Accessible shows for people with disabilities

The Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille are accessible to persons with disabilities.

Designated seating is available in various categories, depending on individual needs, including for patrons accompanied by guide dogs.

Specific accessibility services are offered for selected performances.

Even when a performance is sold out, seats may still be available in certain reserved allocations. Please contact the Accessibility Service to book your seats or for any further information.

To ensure access to wheelchair-accessible seating and/or specific adapted performances, reservations must be made at least 8 days before the desired performance date and in accordance with the ticket sales opening calendar, directly with the Accessibility Service: by phone at  +33 (0)1 40 01 18 50, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., or by email at accessibilite@operadeparis.fr

Upon presentation of valid documentation1, a 50% discount2 will be applied to the full price for both the person with a disability and their companion.

For youth preview performances, reserved for audience members under 28, the companion of a person with a disability is not subject to the age restriction.

All performances at the Paris Opera (except Gala evenings or Arop galas, and excluding Studio Bastille programming) are accessible to patrons with reduced mobility.

Designated and dedicated seating areas are available at the Palais Garnier and the Opéra Bastille (Main Auditorium and Olivier Messiaen Amphitheatre). These areas accommodate patrons across various seating categories, based on their individual needs.

The Paris Opera has introduced “Relax” performances, which offer an inclusive and welcoming environment designed to facilitate access to the theatre for individuals whose disability (autism, multiple disabilities, intellectual or psychological disabilities, Alzheimer’s disease, etc.) may lead to atypical or unpredictable behavior during the performance.

The audience and performers are informed in advance, and the usual codes of conduct are relaxed so that everyone can enjoy the performance and express their emotions without fear of judgment.

The front-of-house team is reinforced and trained to respond to a wide range of disability-related situations.

UPCOMING RELAX PERFORMANCES

Designated seating is available in various categories, tailored to individual needs, including for patrons accompanied by guide dogs.

The Opera also offers audio-described performances in collaboration with the association Accès Culture for patrons with visual impairments. On these occasions, a special headset providing detailed information about the performance, along with a program in Braille or large print (upon request), is provided free of charge.

Naturally accessible shows, recitals and concerts for the blind and visually impaired

Certain performances in the program are designed to be naturally accessible to deaf and hard of hearing individuals.

The presentation of the 26/27 young audience season will be translated into French sign language, and will take place on Thursday 10 September 2026 at 6 p.m. in the Studio Bastille at the Opéra Bastille.
