A fairytale ballet set to Tchaikovsky’s dazzling score, Swan Lake was created in 1877 for the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow and later revived by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov. Nearly a century later, in 1984, Rudolf Nureyev created his own interpretation of the ballet for the Paris National Opera.
