Synopsis
This event explores the Palais Garnier as a place of creation. Built for the genre of grand opera, which would soon fade away, the Palais Garnier has hosted opera and ballet performances since 1875.
This talk revisits some of its most memorable moments: the legendary performances of the Ballets Russes, the unforgettable voices of artists such as Maria Callas, and the eagerly awaited 1983 premiere of Messiaen’s Saint François d’Assise.
