  • European Heritage Days 2016: the Paris Opera Ballet School opens its doors to visitors

    Several guided tours will be offered free of charge at the Paris Opera Ballet School in Nanterre on September 17, 2016 between 10 am and 6 pm. Come and discover what goes on behind the scenes at this prestigious teaching institution, established in 1713 by Louis XIV. Prior booking is required.

  • Adriana Gonzalez, First Prize in the Otto Edelmann singing competition

    Soprano-in-residence at the Paris Opera Academy Adriana Gonzalez received First Prize at the 4th edition of the Otto Edelmann international singing competition in Vienna. Following the final, on the 21st August, the young opera singer also obtained the role of Pamina in Mozart's Magic Flute.

    From July 20 to July 24, 2016, two students from the Ballet School will travel to Stuttgart for the Anniversary Gala to mark Reid Anderson’s 20 years at the head of the Stuttgarter Ballett.

  • 2016 Summer Course at the Ballet School

    The Opéra national de Paris Ballet School's Summer Course takes place for the fourth year running: 290 young dancers aged from 10 to 19, girls and boys of 31 different nationalities, prepare to join the Opera for two weeks of work with the School's teachers and a guest dancer from the Ballet, Simon Valastro. From July 11, 2016 onwards, 34 adult dance teachers and pianist/accompanists will also enjoy the opportunity to follow a professional training course.

  • The Paris Opera Orchestra’s performance of the Gurre-Lieder to be broadcast on France Musique

    At 2pm on July 1, 2016, France Musique will broadcast a concert by the Paris Opera Orchestra originally recorded on April 19 at the Philharmonie de Paris. Conducted by Philippe Jordan the programme features the dazzling Gurre-Lieder by Schönberg.

  • Kurt Weill Workshop in the Amphithéâtre Bastille

    On June 30, 2016 at 8 pm, the second workshop of the season will be dedicated to Kurt Weill. As part of her residence at the Paris Opera Academy, stage director Mirabelle Ordinaire offers an artistic programme around the German composer and explores some of his most beautiful works with the help of the Academy’s singers, vocal coaches, choreographers and musicians.

  • The Paris Opera Ballet School’s Summer Tour in Hamburg

    From June 29 to July 05, 2016, four students from the Paris Opera Ballet School have been invited to Hamburg for a gala celebrating the 20 years of Yondering, the ballet created by John Neumeier in 1996 and danced exclusively by schools, particularly the Paris Opera’s Ballet School. To mark the occasion, Marianne Kruuse, former Director of the Hamburg Ballett’s Ballet School, honoured the Paris Opera Ballet School with a visit during the week of May 09, 2016 where she attended several rehearsals of the performance.
