  • The Paris Opera Orchestra to perform Wagner in Toulouse

    The Paris Opera Orchestra is performing in Toulouse for the first time and will offer audiences an exhilarating journey through the finest excerpts from the Ring Cycle. In 2010 and 2011, the Orchestra’s musical director Philippe Jordan gave the first ever performance of the Ring at the Opéra Bastille and the first complete Ring Cycle at the Paris Opera in over half a century. From the spellbinding “Prelude” of Das Rheingold to the breakneck “Ride of the Valkyries”, Paris audiences will also have a chance to see the concert at the Opéra Bastille in the autumn of 2016.

  • New version of Google Arts & Culture site

    The Paris Opera's partner Google's Cultural Institute has updated the interface of its Google Art & Culture platform dedicated to the arts: discover the new features of the site and enjoy the virtual tour of the Palais Garnier developed jointly by the two institutions and including a unique view of the Chagall ceiling.

  • Avant-première broadcast of "La Saison des Adieux" for the Friends of the Opera

    On June 06, 2016, AROP members gathered at the Studio Bastille for an avant-première broadcast of an audio documentary by Jean-Marc Crantor, created in collaboration with France Culture and dedicated to the stage farewells of Paris Opera dancers Benjamin Pech, Yann Saïz and Pascal Aubin. Illustrated by archive footage, the event was an opportunity for discussions between the participants and the artists.

  • Workshop “William Forsythe, my parents and I” in the Amphithéâtre Bastille

    On June 4, 2016 at 10:30am, the Paris Opera is offering children, adolescents and their parents a practical artistic workshop devoted to the choreographer William Forsythe. Focused on a responsive approach to dance, the workshop aims to familiarise the participants with the creative world of the artist.

  • The Petits Violons mark the 25th anniversary of the Ten Months of School and Opera programme with a concert

    The Petits Violons are an ensemble like no other: this innovative organisation enables 24 students to study the violin, viola or cello over a three-year period. This year, to mark the 25th anniversary of the Paris Opera’s Ten Months of School and Opera programme, the Petits Violons will be appearing in concert at the Amphithéâtre Bastille. The concert programme includes contemporary scores and arrangements of famous pages from the instrumental and vocal repertoires.
