Morgan-Andrew King is Māori and comes from Tahaaroa, New Zealand. He graduated from the New Zealand School of Music at Victoria University of Wellington and from the Curtis Institute of Music in Philadelphia.
He was a member of the Frankfurt Opernstudio from 2024 to 2026, where he performed the roles of Hobson (Peter Grimes), Nikitich and Chernikovsky (Boris Godunov), Ivan Shuran (The Enchantress), Bourdon (Le Postillon de Lonjumeau), and Oger (Mélusine). He has also performed the roles of Sarastro (The Magic Flute), the Commendatore and Leporello (Don Giovanni) for the Williams Opera Company; Monsieur Lacouf (Les Mamelles de Tirésias), the Mother (The Seven Deadly Sins), and Harašta, Jezevec, and Farář (The Cunning Little Vixen) for the Curtis Opera Theater; Sciarrone (Tosca) and Samuel (Un ballo in maschera) for Wellington Opera; and Sparafucile (Rigoletto), Colline (La Bohème), Simone (Gianni Schicchi), Raimondo (Lucia di Lammermoor), Don Magnifico and Alidoro (La Cenerentola), as well as the Marchese and the Doctor (La Traviata) at the Mediterranean Opera Studio and Festival in Sicily.
In Brisbane, he made his debut in the role of the Count (Die Opernprobe). He will join the Paris Opera Lyric Troupe for the 2026–2027 season.
