Contests and auditions

Academy

The Paris Opera Academy opens its doors as of September 2015. Young artists—singers, vocal coaches, stage directors, and musicians—in residence will be able to interact with professionals, learn alongside them and benefit from their experience. The Academy’s objective is to become a centre for the encounters and exchanges vital to those who wish to embark on a professional career in this artistic universe.
The artists-in-residence will follow additional in-depth complementary training. Recognised by AFDAS, the interdisciplinary training received by artists-in-residence is specially designed to help them find their place in the professional world.

Alongside experienced stage directors and stage designers invited to the Opera, the young director will discover the different stages in the process of creating a new production.
This residency will also enable him or her to acquire a more detailed understanding of the relationship between drama and music.
