Academy
Created in 2015, the Paris Opera Academy enters into the artistic policy of the establishment a handover mission conceived as an opening toward the world, the youth and the new territories.
Young artists and craftsmen in residence can mix with professionals of the Paris Opera and, by their side, learn from their experience. The Academy’s goal is to be a place of meeting and confrontation, which is the guarantee of a good occupational integration.
Recognized by the AFDAS, the training provided to the artists and craftsmen in residence is resolutely interdisciplinary and vocational.

DOUBLE-BASS
The double bassist currently at the Academy will be doing second year.
Therefore, there is no double bassist-in-residence position available for the 2026/2027 season.
The Academy prepares young artisans for their future profession in the fields of costume, wig and make-up. Young professionals are thus given the opportunity to gain experience and specialize in the performing arts.
Coming from technical or craft backgrounds, residents will complete their training, accompanied by Paris Opera professionals with exceptional expertise and know-how. The training program also includes specific modules for each discipline. The training pathway also provides an opportunity to discover the different artistic professions at the opera, with the chance to attend ballet and opera rehearsals.
Artisans in residence are hired on a full-time basis from September 1, 2025 to June 30, 2026.
They join the Academy to complete their training.

The next recruitment session will be announced in early 2026.
The director currently at the Academy will be doing for a second year.
As a result, there are no Academy stage director available for the 2026/2027 season.
The next recruitment process will open in early 2027.
