Académie
The Paris Opera’s aim is to introduce a new generation of chorus artists to the culture, artistic identity and expertise of the Paris Opera Chorus by providing them with high-level professional training.
The Academie Chorus program enables selected artists to immerse themselves in the Paris Opera Chorus and benefit from professional training that complements their initial studies.
Taking part, as extra choristers in the Paris Opera Chorus, in some of the main stage production.
Taking part in projects as part of the Academy’s program.
Vocal coaching, mock auditions, coaching in social media, Alexander Technique, sophrology, hair and make-up, French as a foreign language…
Start of the activities: August 23rd 2027.
No tuition fees are to be paied.
Artists in the YAP are employed under a professional training contract and receive a gross monthly salary of €2,300 from August 23rd 2027 to July 2028 inclusive (full-time). The contract is compatible with the status of “intermittent du spectacle”.
Their remuneration is subject to service obligations to the Opera.
The successful candidate undertakes to be fully available to the Opera for the entire duration of their contract, unless written authorization for absence has been granted.
Online applications via MUVAC are open until December 31th 2027. A pre-selection process may take place.
Recruitment auditions will take place on February 5th and 6th 2027.
The auditions will take place at the Opéra Bastille, 120, rue de Lyon – 75012 Paris.
Invitations for the uaditions will be sent to candidates from January 11th 2027.
The candidate will perform

The Académie aims to promote a new generation of artists and craftspeople.
The mission of the Académie de l’Opéra national de Paris is to prepare young artists for the demands of their future profession: this involves enabling them to explore all the possibilities of their art, exposing them to the experience of performing on stage, and showcasing the results of their work to the public through concerts and performances.
L’Académie offers an advanced training program for stage directors.
They will be able to specialize in the field of opera by analyzing a range of classical and contemporary works and engaging in a dialogue with various opera professionals: singers, musicians, conductors, costume designers, lighting designers, and so on.
Start date for the Académie activities: September 1st 2027.

Contract compatible with the “intermittent du spectacle” status.
Their remuneration is subject to service obligations to the Opéra.
The successful candidate undertakes to be fully available to the Opéra for the entire duration of their contract, unless written authorization for leave has been granted
