Lighting designer Lucy Carter is an Olivier Award winner (2 Human, 2004) and two-time winner of the Knight of Illumination Award (Chroma, 2008, and Woolf Works, 2015). She works closely with choreographer Wayne McGregor, both for the Wayne McGregor Company and the Royal Ballet in London.
In opera, she has designed the lighting for Festen, Hänsel and Gretel, Alcina, Mavra / Pierrot Lunaire, The Turn of the Screw, Kátia Kabanová, The Cunning Little Vixen, Orpheus and Eurydice, Salomé, The Dream of Gerontius, Fiddler on the Roof, La finta giardiniera and Peter Grimes. Her theatre credits include The Little Foxes, City of Floating Sounds, Shirley Valentine, 2:22, Everybody's Talking About Jamie, Home I'm Darling, Husbands and Sons, Medea, Emil and the Detectives, and Persuasion. With Wayne McGregor, she has worked on DYAD 1929, Deepstaria, INFRA, Woolf Works, MADDADDAM, The Dante Project, McGregor + Mugler, Multiverse, Chroma and Autobiography.
