Le coq sportif becomes the official sportswear supplier of the Paris Opera Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet School

Launch of the tour in Asia: Le coq sportif becomes the official sportswear supplier of the Paris Opera Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet School for the next 6 years and it will be dressing the Company for its departure to Singapore and Shanghai.

Inspired by the same appreciation for effort, excellence and the beauty of movement, Le coq sportif and the Paris Opera have decided to join forces in an original partnership. As a result, the French brand is becoming “the official sportswear supplier for the Paris Opera Ballet and the Paris Opera Ballet School” for a period of 6 years starting in June 2019.

To mark the 2019 Tour in Asia, in June and July to Singapore and Shanghai, Le coq sportif and the Paris Opera will begin their collaboration with some introductory outfits specifically designed for the dancers on their travels. These sober, elegant outfits in black or white were created around the respective logos of the Paris Opera and Le coq sportif, which both appear opposite each other in a rich golden tone evocative of the sumptuous décor of the Palais Garnier. All the clothing has been designed in Romilly-sur-Seine, at the historic workshops of the French brand, and tested by the dancers of the Ballet. The garments were made in the Troyes area out of the finest knitted and dyed materials in France.
Le coq sportif has also reworked its iconic Blazon shoe by drawing inspiration from Swan Lake which the Ballet will be performing in Asia. Available in black or white, with delicately worked leather designed to evoke the feathers of a swan, the shoe will reveal the Paris Opera’s logo in gold embossed on the tongue and heels. Limited to just 350 pairs per colour, Le coq sportif has called on all its expertise to manufacture this original new model in France in acknowledgement of the anniversary that the Paris Opera is celebrating in 2019.

This first le coq sportif / Paris Opéra collection will be available from June 18 in all of the brand’s stores.
