Paolo Bondi was born in Parma in 1963 and studied music and the classics in Italy. As an artist in the chorus of Parma’s Teatro Regio he performed numerous solo roles in a variety of operas, including Puccini’s Madame Butterfly and La Bohème, Verdi’s Rigoletto, Massenet’s Manon and Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail. He has been a chorus artist in several Italian theatres including the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, the Teatro Comunale in Bologna, the Verona Arena, and the Teatro Comunale in Turin, to name but a few. At the same time, he sings regularly in concert and recital, performing opera arias and works from the repertoire of Italian melodies. He honed his vocal technique under the guidance of Maestro Paolo Valieri, assistant to conductor Carlo Maria Giulini at Milan’s La Scala and with the soloist and singing teacher Sergio Bertocchi. He has been a member of the Paris Opera Chorus since 1999.
