Johanna Wallroth Soprano

Biography

A graduate of the Vienna State Opera Academy, Johanna Wallroth quickly established herself on the international stage. She made her debut at the Glyndebourne Festival as Susanna (The Marriage of Figaro) under Riccardo Minasi and as Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare) under Laurence Cummings.

She has also performed Barbarina (The Marriage of Figaro) at the Vienna State Opera under Philippe Jordan and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Opéra de Rouen under Ben Glassberg. In the 2025–2026 season, she will make her debut as Pamina (The Magic Flute) at Theater Basel, the Governess (The Turn of the Screw) with Den Norske Opera, Bellezza (Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno) at the Opera of Rome, and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) in concert with the Swedish Chamber Orchestra and at the Verbier Festival under Gabor Takács-Nagy.

In concert, she will reprise Knoxville: Summer of 1915 by Barber with the Cleveland Orchestra under Barbara Hannigan and perform Mozart arias with the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra conducted by Karina Canellakis. She will join the Lyric Ensemble of the Paris National Opera for the 2026–2027 season.
