Member of the Paris Opera Lyric Ensemble
After training as a dancer at the Royal Swedish Ballet School, Johanna Wallroth turned to singing and graduated from the University of Music and Performing Arts Vienna. She won First Prize at the Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition in 2019, received the Birgit Nilsson Scholarship in 2021, and represented Sweden at the 2023 Cardiff Singer of the World competition. A graduate of the Vienna State Opera's Opera Studio, she made her Glyndebourne Festival debut as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) and Cleopatra (Giulio Cesare).
She has performed the roles of Barbarina (Le nozze di Figaro) in Vienna and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) in Rouen. More recently, she made her role debuts as Pamina (Die Zauberflöte) in Basel, the Governess (The Turn of the Screw) in Oslo, and Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) in concert at the Verbier Festival.
During the 2026–2027 season, she appears as Susanna at the Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin and performs Barber's Knoxville: Summer of 1915 at the Maison de la Radio et de la Musique – Radio France. She is a member of the Paris Opera Lyric Ensemble for the 2026–2027 season.
