Bettina Auer Dramatist


Bettina Auer studied theatre staging, musicology and philology in Hamburg and Berlin. As music and theatre advisor in Bern, Darmstadt, Basel, and at the Berlin Komische Oper, she took part in various dance and theatre projects and creations. She was a guess at the Salzburg Festival, the Zurich Opera, the Burgtheater in Vienna, at the Jerusalem Film Festival, Lucerne Festival, at the KunstFestSpiele Herrenhausen, the Flemish Opera, and the Cologne Schauspiel. Since 2009, she has been regularly working with Calixto Bieito. She also assisted directors such as Stefan Bachmann, Karin Beier, Tatjana Gürbaca, Claus Guth, Jasmina Haziahmetovic, Andreas Homoki, Barrie Kosky, Hans Neuenfels, Stefan Pucher, Joachim Schlömer, Nicolas Stemann, Michael Thalmeier… In 2012 she became artistic advisor at the Dutch National Opera, at the Teatro Argentino, the Teatro del Canal in Madrid, the Vlaamse Opera, at the Schwetzingen Festival, the Berliner Philharmonic, at the Oslo national Theatre and Opera, at the Vienna Staatsoper, the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Theater an der Wien, and the Radialsystem in Berlin. She is also professor at the Hanns Eisler University and the Berlin University of Arts, and at the Dresden Academy of Fine Arts. Since 1995, she has also been working with the Swiss radio station DRS 2.
