Biography

Member of the Paris Opera Lyric Troupe

The American-Norwegian tenor Bergsvein Toverud holds a Master’s degree from the Eastman School of Music and a Bachelor’s degree from Furman University. He was a finalist in the 2021 Friends of Eastman Opera Aria Competition and received the Lyric Prize from the Cercle Carpeaux in 2026. He performed the role of Roméo (Roméo et Juliette) at Central City Opera. As part of the Bailey Apprentice Artist Program at Palm Beach Opera, he took part in numerous concerts. With the Paris Opera Academy, of which he was a member from 2024 to 2026, he has performed roles including Gernando (L’Isola disabitata) and Belfiore (La finta giardiniera). He has been a member of the Paris Opera Lyric Troupe for the 2026–2027 season.
