European Heritage Days 2023
On the occasion of the European Heritage Days 2023, the Paris Opera is organizing guided tours of its costumes warehouse on Saturday 16 September, as well as guided tours of the Bastille Opera’s backstages on Sunday 17 September.
On registration from Tuesday, September 5th at 2 pm.
Built by Charles Garnier with the help of Gustave Eiffel to host the Paris Opera's scenery workshops, the Berthier Workshops have been listed as a Historic Monument since 1990.
In addition to the manufacture and renovation of sets, the Berthier Workshops now house a storage area for more than 6000 set and costume elements!
These exceptional visits will allow you to admire unique costumes from all styles and areas, worn on stage by the artists of the Palais Garnier and the Opera Bastille.

Containing 2,713 seats and a hall of homogeneous acoustics, unique stage equipment, on-site workshops to make the Opera’s sets, costumes and props, but also studios and rehearsal rooms, the Bastille Opera is a large, modern and unique building in the world of theatre, with cutting-edge craftsmanship and technology.
