Tours and concerts of the Paris Opera Orchestra

The Paris Opera Orchestra will open a series of symphony concerts with two evenings dedicated on Richard Wagner and Sergei Prokofiev at the Vienna Musikverein and, for the very first time, at the Hamburg Elbphilharmonie. Musicians will be conducted by Philippe Jordan with soprano Nina Stemme.

The Paris Opera Orchestra’s concerts

Since the 15/16 Season, the Paris Opera Orchestra has been performing at the Paris Philharmonie (Arnold Schonberg, Gustav Mahler, Cycle Piotr Ilyitch Tchaikovsky and Anton Bruckner) and will present this winter a Claude Debussy/Sergei Prokofiev programme. At the occasion of the exhibition “Degas at the Opera” held at the Orsay Museum, an event that takes part of the celebrations around the 350th anniversary of the Royal Academy of Music, a shorter version of this programme will be performed in the museum nave.

To close this season of symphony concerts, the Orchestra and Philippe Jordan will perform two of Gustav Mahler’s works, including the Rückert Lieder with baritone Matthias Goerne.
