A first for 30 dancers versed in hip-hop, krump, break and voguing... A first for stage director Clément Cogitore and choreographer Bintou Dembélé. And a first for the Paris Opera. Bringing together urban dance and opera, they reinvent Jean-Philippe Rameau's baroque masterpiece, Les Indes Galantes. From rehearsals to public performances, the film follows the human adventure and an encounter with political implications: can a new generation of artists conquer the Bastille today?

Philippe Béziat made for theatrical release Pelléas and Mélisandre, the blinds’ song in 2009, NOCES, Stravinski / Ramuz in 2011, and Traviata and us, an opera-documentary focusing on Jean François Sivadier’s production at the Aix-en-Provence Festival in 2011 (released in October 2012).
