Biography

A native of Seoul, Young-Woo Kim holds a bachelor's degree in music from Yonsei University. He then studied opera singing at the Conservatoire de Boulogne-Billancourt, in Esthel Durand's class, and obtained his diploma of musical studies with honors. He continued his training at the Conservatoire de Versailles, in Gaël de Kerret's class, graduating with honors. He has won numerous competitions, including the Béziers International Singing Competition and the French Singing Masters Competition.

He has performed the roles of Schaunard (La Bohème) and Figaro (Les Noces de Figaro), and has appeared as soloist in Théodore Dubois's Les Sept Paroles du Christ, Mozart's Coronation Mass, Rossini's Petite Messe solennelle, Saint-Saëns's Oratorio de Noël and Brahms's Un requiem allemand. Since June 2022, Young-Woo Kim has been a titular artist with the Chœurs de l'Opéra national de Paris.
