Member of the Chœurs de l’Opéra national de Paris
Originally from Seoul, Young-Woo Kim holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from Yonsei University. He went on to study vocal performance at the Boulogne-Billancourt Conservatory, in the class of Esthel Durand, and graduated with a Diploma in Musical Studies with highest honours unanimously awarded.
He continued his training at the Versailles Conservatory, in the class of Gaël de Kerret, and received a postgraduate performance prize with highest distinction. He is a prizewinner of numerous competitions, including the International Lyrical Singing Competition of Béziers and the French “Maîtres du Chant” Competition.
He has notably performed the roles of Schaunard (La Bohème) and Figaro (The Marriage of Figaro), and has appeared as a soloist in works such as Théodore Dubois’ Les Sept Paroles du Christ, Mozart’s Coronation Mass, Rossini’s Petite Messe solennelle, Saint-Saëns’ Christmas Oratorio, and Brahms’ Ein deutsches Requiem.
Since June 2022, Young-Woo Kim has been a full member of the Chœurs de l’Opéra national de Paris.
