Trained at the Paris National Opera’s Atelier Lyrique
Born in Armenia, Ruzan Mantashyan studied piano and voice at the Komitas Conservatory in Yerevan, then pursued further training in Modena and Frankfurt. She later became a member of the Paris National Opera’s Atelier Lyrique until 2016. A finalist at the Francisco Viñas Competition in Barcelona, she received a special prize, and she won the Toti dal Monte Competition for Musetta (La Bohème).
She has sung Micaëla (Carmen) in Montpellier and Hamburg, Marguerite (Faust) and Rachel (La Juive) in Geneva, Tatiana (Eugene Onegin) in Hamburg, Liège, Berlin, and Vienna, Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte) in Lille, Munich, Hamburg, Seoul, and Zurich, Mimi (La Bohème) in Geneva, Zurich, London, Berlin, Tokyo, Natori, Kyoto, and Munich, Countess Almaviva (The Marriage of Figaro) in Amsterdam, the title role of Rusalka in Limoges, and Alice Ford (Falstaff) in Berlin.
Recently, she has performed Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) in Glyndebourne and Zurich, the title role of Cinderella in Lausanne, Countess Almaviva in Hamburg, and Violetta (La Traviata) in Geneva. In the 2025–2026 season, she will perform Fiordiligi and Alice Ford in Vienna, and Violetta in Montpellier.
