Biography

Momme Hinrichs has cofounded, with Torge Møller, the artistic duo fettFilm, and played a major role in the development of video projections, as well as the role of video-designers, in theaters since the year 2000. He has also been active as a set designer since 2007 and as stage director in his own right since 2014. 

His works explores a symbiosis between the stage and projections and has led him to many European leading festivals such as those of Salzburg, Bayreuth and Bregenz, as well as opera houses in Berlin, Hamburg, Munich, Cologne, Hanover, Oslo, Paris, Toulouse, Nancy, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, Vienna, Budapest, Barcelona, and Florence, in addition to international theaters in North America, China, India and in the Middle East. 

Among the many awards he received is Ukraine’s highest state award for culture and the arts, the Shevchenko National Prize, which was awarded in 2021 to the Donbass Opera Donetsk’s production of The Flying Dutchman for which he and fettFilm designed the sets and projections. 

In the 2022/23 season, he will design the videos for Die Frau ohne Schatten at Baden Baden and Anatevka at Theater Würzburg.
