Biography

Mikhail Tatarnikov graduated from the Rimsky-Korsakov St Petersburg State Conservatory in 2003 and went on to study at the Conducting Symphony and Lyric Orchestra University. He has been invited to the greatest operatic venues: Teatro alla Scala in Milan, Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, La Monnaie in Brussels, Opéra national de Bordeaux, Opéra de Monte-Carlo, Theater an der Wien, Komische Oper in Berlin, Mariinsky Theatre…

He conducted the Russian premiere of Britten’s opera Billy Budd at the Theatre. Recent engagements include Manon Lescaut at Staatsoper Unter den Linden in Berlin, Prince Igor at Hamburg Staatsoper, The Makropulos Affair at San Francisco Opera, Mazeppa at the Bolshoi in Moscow, The Demon at Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Samson et Dalila at Théâtre des Champs-Élysées, Boris Godunov at Opéra de Monte-Carlo.

He also made his debut at the Salzburg Festival, with the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice, and with the Bournemouth Symphony Orchestra. He toured for gala concerts with Anna Netrebko and Yusif Eyvazov in Japan, China, Seoul, in Australia and New Zealand.

On the concert platform, Mikhail Tatarnikov has collaborated with the Rotterdam Philharmonic Orchestra, Orchestre national de Radio-France, Orchestre national de France, Orchestre philharmonique de Monte-Carlo, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, Oslo Symphony Orchestra, Seoul Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony Orchestra, and Russian National Orchestra. In the next seasons, he will make his debut at the Dresden Semperoper.
