Originally from Lyon, Julien Henric graduated from the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Lyon in 2020 and was a member of the Young Ensemble of the Grand Théâtre de Genève from 2020 to 2022. He won First Prize in French Mélodie and Third Prize in Opera at the International Marmande Competition in 2022, Second Prize at the Symphonies d’Automne in Mâcon in 2019, and three prizes at the Raymond Duffaut Young Talents Competition in 2018. He was also named ADAMI “Révélation Lyrique” in 2018.
Among his recent roles are Laërte (Hamlet) at the Salzburg Festival and the Teatro Regio in Turin, Tébaldo (L’Ancêtre) at the Auditorium Rainier III with the Palazzetto Bru Zane, Don José (Carmen) at the Shanghai Opera House, the Chevalier de la Force (Dialogues des Carmélites) at the Opéra de Rouen Normandie, Walter (Tannhäuser) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Comte de Vaudémont (Iolanta) and Mirko (La Montagne noire) at the Opéra National de Bordeaux, and Mylio (Le Roi d’Ys) at the Opéra National du Rhin.
During the 2026–2027 season, he performs, among others, Lord Arthur Bucklaw (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Bergamo, Octavio (Giuditta) in Lausanne, and Tybalt (Roméo et Juliette) at the Paris Opera.
