Hsing-Han Tsai was born in Kaohsiung (Taiwan) and began studying the cello at the age of nine at the conservatory in her home city. In 2010, she entered the National University of the Arts in Taipei with I-Ching Cheng. During her studies in Taiwan, she won the first prize for cello and the chamber music first prize at the Taiwan National Music Competition. She has also worked with prestigious conductors in the masterclasses of the Seiji Ozawa Academy in Japan and Switzerland. In 2013, she was accepted into the class of Philippe Müller at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse in Paris. Hsing-Han Tsai joined the Paris Opera Academy in September 2017.
