Francesca Pia Vitale Soprano

Biography

Francesca Pia Vitale has won numerous international awards after graduating in 2020 from the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milan. During her years of training at La Scala in Milan, she performed in many concerts, took part in masterclasses with Luciana D'Intino, Renato Bruson, Eva Mei, Leo Nucci, Ildar Abdrazakov, Nino Machaidze, and Marcelo Alvarez, and deepened her studies under the guidance of Vincenzo Scalera, James Vaughan, and Michele D’Elia. She made her debut at La Scala in Milan in 2018 in the role of Giannetta (L’elisir d’amore).

In 2019, she performed there in the diptych Prima la musica poi le parole and Gianni Schicchi, and took on the roles of the Page (Rigoletto) and Clorinda (La Cenerentola for children). She made her debut at the Opera of Cagliari in a production of Hänsel und Gretel conducted by Johannes Debus.

In 2020 and 2021, she sang the role of Annina (La Traviata) at La Scala, Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) at the Teatro degli Arcimboldi, broadcast on SkyClassica, and made her debut at the Verona Arena in La Traviata. In 2022, she toured France, performing in Clermont-Ferrand, Vichy, Avignon, Metz, and Reims in the role of Lisa (La Sonnambula). She then returned to La Scala as Elisetta (Il matrimonio segreto) and debuted in Padua as Giulietta (I Capuleti e i Montecchi).

More recently, she made her debut at the Royal Opera House Muscat as Susanna (Le nozze di Figaro) in La Scala’s historic production staged by Giorgio Strehler, returned to La Scala as Ciomma (Le zite 'ngalera), Sophie (Werther), and Silandra (Orontea), sang Musetta (La Bohème) at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari and the Opéra National de Bordeaux, Giulietta at the Teatro Massimo in Palermo, and Norina (Don Pasquale) at the Teatro Regio in Turin.

In the 2024–2025 season, she performs as Adina (L’elisir d’amore) in Monte Carlo, Merope (Epitide) in Barcelona, Madrid, Berlin, and Vienna, Gilda (Rigoletto) in Hanover and Milan, Elisa (Il re pastore) in Rome, and Amenaide (Tancredi) at the Festival della Valle d'Itria.
