Fernando Velasquez was born in Chili and studied singing at the National Conservatory of the University of Chili in Santiago. He has been a member of the Paris Opera Chorus since 1997. He has performed as a soloist in many of the Paris Opera’s productions, including Turandot (The Prince of Persia), Katiá Kabanová (Chodec), Il Trovatore (a Messenger), Manon, La Bohème, and Louise. He returns regularly to Chili to give concerts at classical festivals. He is also a member of the Chilean quartet “Poesia”, which explores and revisits Latin-American, Spanish and Italian melodies based on the great Iberian-American poets.
