Biography

Evelino Pidò has been invited to perform on all the major international opera stages. Recent engagements include La Somnambule at the Semperoper in Dresden, La Fille du régiment at the Teatro Regio in Turin, La Bohème at the Royal Opera House in London, where he had previously conducted Don Pasquale, La Fille du régiment and Le Turc en Italie, and L'Élixir d'amour and Lucia di Lammermoor at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, Les Huguenots at La Monnaie in Brussels, Viva La Mamma at the Teatro Real in Madrid, Lucia di Lammermoor and Don Pasquale at the Vienna Staatsoper, La Traviata at the Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Rigoletto at the Bolshoi Theatre in Moscow, La Traviata at the Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires and Simon Boccanegra at the Palau de les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia.

In the 2023-2024 season, he makes his debut at the Hamburg Staatsoper with Turandot, conducts L'Élixir d'amour at the Vienna Staatsoper, La Bohème at the Royal Opera House in London, Don Pasquale at La Scala in Milan and Le Barbier de Séville at the Semperoper in Dresden and at the Teatro alla Scala Academy. He also made his debut at Santiago de Chile's Teatro Municipal in a staged Don Pasquale.

In 2012, Evelino Pidò was awarded the Prix Bellini d'Oro for the best interpreter of Bellini's music. His discography includes a recording of French arias with tenor Vittorio Grigolo, L'Élixir d'amour with the Orchestra and Chorus of the Opéra national de Lyon for Decca, Rossini Overtures with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and La Somnambule with Natalie Dessay for EMI Virgin Classics, which won a Diapason d'or.
