Eugénie Joneau studied at the Lyon Conservatoire before joining the Opéra Studio of the Opéra national du Rhin. She has won numerous prizes, including second prize, the zarzuela prize and the Birgit Nilsson prize at the Operalia Plácido Domingo competition, as well as second prizes at the Ténor Viñas competition in Barcelona and the Neue Stimmen competition in Germany. She was crowned Revelation of the Year at the Victoires de la Musique 2022.
In recent seasons, she has played Karolka (Jenůfa) at the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Second Lady (The Magic Flute) and Bonté (Guercœur) at the Opéra national du Rhin, the title role in Carmen at the Festival du Toûno in Switzerland, Adalgisa (Norma) at the Ravenna Festival under the baton of Riccardo Muti, Suzuki (Madame Butterfly) at the Opéra de Marseille, Mère Marie (Dialogues des Carmélites) at the Opéra de Rouen, Adalgisa and Mary (The Flying Dutchman) at the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse.
During the 2025-2026 season, she will be Mother Marie at the Lausanne Opera and the Marseille Opera and will take part in a staged version of Verdi's Missa di Requiem at the Opéra national de Lorraine.
