Originally from Los Angeles, Cyrus Allyar began learning the trumpet with David Searfoss of the Pasadena Symphony before continuing his training with Boyde Hood of the Los Angeles Philharmonic.
He then studied in Germany at the Hochschule für Musik Freiburg with Wim Van Hasselt and at the Hochschule für Musik Karlsruhe with Reinhold Friedrich.
In 2022, he joined the Paris Opera Orchestra as principal cornet. Regularly invited by leading international ensembles, he performs as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral player.
He has recorded as both a soloist and chamber musician for several major record labels, covering a wide repertoire from Baroque to contemporary music. He performs on both modern and historical instruments.
