Biography

Aleksandra Jovanović is a coloratura soprano from Belgrade, Serbia. She is a prize winner on competitions such as Seoul International Music Competition, SWR Junge Opernstars - Emmerich Smola Förderpreis, Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg, Ada Sari Vocal Artistry Competition and Bruna Špiler International Competition. Aleksandra made her stage debut in 2013 as Queen of the Night in The Magic Flute at the Opera and Theatre Madlenianium and has made house debuts with the same role at the National Theatre in Belgrade, Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad, Deutsche Oper Berlin and Vienna State Opera. In the season 2014/15 she returned to the Opera and Theatre Madlenianum to perform the role of Pepi Pleininger in Wiener Blut by Strauss II. In Paris Opera she is making a house debut as Le feu and Le rossignol and L'enfant et les Sortilèges. Aleksandra regularly performs with Symphony Orchestra and Choir of Serbian National Broadcasting Corporation - RTS, making notable performances including New Year`s concerts, the world premiere (2017) and the recording (2018) of Božo Banović’s The Lake for soprano and symphony orchestra, soprano solo performances in Requiems of Faure and Mozart, Haydn's The Creation and Orf`s Carmina Burana. 

She holds both master`s degree in Musicology and Voice at Belgrade Faculty of Music, where she was honored with two special awards for the achievements made during her studies.
