Promoting the Opera Across the Entire Territory

As part of its public service mission, the Paris Opera works to make the lyrical and choreographic heritage repertoire accessible to as many people as possible. Since 2013, the institution has offered free summer screenings of performances captured at its theatres—the Palais Garnier and Opéra Bastille—outdoors or in adapted heritage sites, in partnership with municipal, departmental, and regional authorities, in various cities across metropolitan and overseas France.

By the numbers

  • 35 partnerships in 2025
  • 58 screenings in 2025

Recent developments

  • In 2025, two operas (Turandot and La Fille du régiment) and two ballets (Don Quixote and La Fille mal gardée) are scheduled.

  • In 2024, 67 screenings were organized—a 42% increase compared to 2023—from Sarcelles to Pau, Papeete to Belfort, and Saint-Denis (Réunion) to Vesoul—allowing audiences to see Roméo et Juliette by Charles Gounod, Cendrillon by Jules Massenet, The Nutcracker by Rudolf Nureyev, and the Maurice Béjart ballet program.
