The Paris Opera Orchestra was born more than three centuries ago, when King Louis XIV founded the Royal Academy of Music. Usually, you will find the orchestra performing in the pits of the Garnier and the Bastille Opera house. But it also goes on tours, open to new audiences and giving symphonic concerts. Under the direction of conductor Gustavo Dudamel, the Paris Opera Orchestra plays a key role in the French and international musical life. Without the essential support of its sponsors, the Paris Opera could not ensure this ever wider outreach of its repertoire, while maintaining its tradition for excellence.
