Through a series of documentaries, you will step in the backstage of the set designs and costumes makings and follow, in the heart of the Berthier Workshops and the Palais Garnier's stage, the making of the stage canvas crafted for Giselle's 1^st act.

Built by Charles Garnier with the help of Gustave Eiffel to host the Paris Opera's scenery workshops, the Berthier Workshops have been listed as a Historic Monument since 1990. In addition to the manufacture and renovation of sets, the Berthier Workshops now house a storage area for sets and costumes as well as a logistics platform. Come and admire unique costumes of all styles and periods and discover the ancient techniques of Italian painting specific to theater sets!

Located in Nanterre since 1987, the Paris Opera Ballet School is the dream of many dancers around the world. The stage spaces at the Bastille Opera are gigantic. They occupy 5,000 m² at the stage level and the same surface 25 meters below, on the -6^th floor, where the sets are assembled and disassembled. Thanks to its unique technical features, the Bastille Opera has established itself as an alternating theatre where it is possible to repeat and perform several shows simultaneously.
