Synopsis
On the occasion of the Paris Opera Ballet School Demonstrations, Élisabeth Platel looks back at this annual event, first introduced in 1977 by Claude Bessy. A much-anticipated tradition marking the end of the students’ first term of training, it celebrates the essence of the French tradition while offering audiences an opportunity to discover the history and expertise of the Paris Opera. Élisabeth Platel will also discuss the ballets by Ivan Clustine, John Taras and Martin Chaix, which will be presented next April as part of the School’s performance.
For the third consecutive season, the Paris Opera is offering monthly encounters with artists to shed light on upcoming productions, just days before opening night. Titled Toï toï toï, these exclusive events held at the Amphitheatre or Studio of the Opéra Bastille give audiences a chance to discover new productions or explore the repertoire, and to engage directly with the artists at the end of each session.
