Under the direction of Élisabeth Platel, the Paris Opera Ballet School presents its Demonstrations at the Palais Garnier. Since their creation in 1977 by Claude Bessy, they have become a highlight of the School’s calendar, offering the public an opportunity to appreciate the richness of classical dance training at the Paris Opera Ballet School.

As every year in December, the students—accompanied by their teachers and pianists—present the skills required to master the codes of the French school, a foundation which, once mastered, will open the door to great artistic freedom.

The Demonstrations also offer a glimpse of the other artistic disciplines and choreographic styles the students practice to complement their training: contemporary dance, folk dance, Baroque dance, mime, character dance, and musical expression.
