Red Carpet, between glamour and art: Hofesh Shechter in the studio

By Antony Desvaux

Following the entries to the Paris Opera Ballets’s repertoire of The Art of Not Looking Back in 2018 and Uprising and In your rooms in 2022, this season Hofesh Shechter is deepening the bond he has forged with the dancers of the Paris Opera Ballet. The choreographer has created Red Carpet which unfolds in a world of offbeat café-théâtre.

Hofesh Shechter discusses the relationship between glamour and art at the heart of his ballet, his collaboration with CHANEL, and the music for Red Carpet, which he composes while writing the choreography.

Toï toï toï: Hofesh Shechter

By Isabelle Stibbe

On the occasion of Red Carpet, his new work for the Paris Opera Ballet, choreographer Hofesh Shechter discusses with José Martinez, Dance Director, the creative process and how the dancers make his movement language their own.

With Toi toi toi, the Paris Opera is inviting you to meet artists who will enlighten the works for us, a few days before the beginning of the performance.

These special moments at the Bastille Opera’s Amphitheatre or Studio will be the occasion to become more familiar with new productions and the Paris Opera repertoire, and to discuss with artists at the end of each session.
