Chiromani

Amphithéâtre Olivier Messiaen - from 12 to 15 January 2024

Synopsis

Chiromani, named after the traditional fabric worn by Comorian women, is a dance tribute to their identities. Heirs to 16th-century African Bantu and Muslim cultures, they have undergone a number of cross-fertilizations since French colonization in the 19th century, right up to the current wave of globalization. Salim Mzé Hamadi Moissi plays on the contradictions born of these diverse influences, creating a hybrid choreographic language between the dances that give rhythm to life in the Comoros and hip hop.

Naturally accessible to the deaf and hearing-impaired.
