Paris Opera announces a partnership with the new streaming app Apple Music Classical.

Launched on March 28, 2023, and included as part of Apple Music subscriptions, Apple Music Classical is designed specifically for classical music and offers the world’s largest classical music catalogue, including hundreds of recordings from Paris Opera, available in the highest audio quality (lossless audio of up to 24 bit/192 kHz) and thousands of recordings in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos*.

As part of this partnership, a dedicated space on Apple Music has been created, containing several selections of albums and thematic playlists created by Paris Opera. Users will be able to find two special album selections - one created by Alexander Neef, Paris Opera’s CEO, around works created at Paris Opera, and another one by José Martinez, Director of Dance, around the great ballets offered by Paris Opera’s repertoire.

A playlist around the 2023/2024 season will also be unveiled in the coming weeks allowing users to discover the lyrical productions programmed next season at the Opéra Bastille and the Palais Garnier.

In addition, several albums featuring Paris Opera's Choirs and the Orchestra have been specially remastered in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos*, offering an immersive listening experience close to a live concert, exclusively for Apple Music Classical.

Paris Opera CEO, Alexander Neef: "Opéra national de Paris aims at reaching a wider audience in Paris, France and around the world. This partnership with Apple will enable us to deliver exceptional content to our existing and new audiences. Together with Apple Music Classical, we will help keep the French, rich tradition of opera alive and vibrant in the digital age, and we are delighted to be part of this launch."

The Apple Store on the Champs-Elysées in Paris will host a live event on April 14 with a Q&A with Alexander Neef and a live performance from soprano Julie Fuchs, who will perform songs from her repertoire. More details on this event will be revealed in the coming days.

*Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos allows listeners to enjoy recordings from the best seat in the concert hall, immersed in a 360-degree soundscape where music comes from every direction, including above.
