Free screening: the 3e Scene short films at the Studio Bastille

In application of the decree published in the Official Journal on March 14, concerning measures in relation to the spread of the “Covid-19” virus, including the ban on public gatherings of more than 100 people, the Paris Opera is obliged to cancel this projection.

Free screening: the 3e Scene short films at the Studio Bastille

The Paris Opera will participates to the Short Film Festival and is glad to invite you on this occasion to a special 3e Scene screening, free and accessible to all (subject to availability)*.
Come and meet us Saturday 28 March at 7:30 pm, Studio Bastille, and discover our selection of short films by the 3e Scene. Another screening exclusively reserved for subscribers will take place the same day at 2:30 pm at the Studio Bastille.

Nephtali by Glen Keane
The legendary Disney Studios artist Glen Keane, inspired by the graceful ballerina Marion Barbeau, draws and gives life to a dancer evolving in a fairy world.

Grand Hôtel Barbès by Ramzi Ben Sliman
Ulysse, an unemployed dancer living in the Parisian neighbourhood of Barbès, ends up on the streets. He enters into a break dance battle and tries to win with his dance set to a melody by Mozart.

Le Lac Perdu by Claude Lévêque
The Paris Opera house is at the heart of this creation. This temple of tricks and accessories inspired plastic artist Claude Lévêque a dreamlike stroll where ballerinas, wings, tutus, bubbles and clouds invite you to a daydream.

Degas et moi by Arnaud des Pallières
Bringing together Michael Lonsdale and Bastien Vivès, Arnaud des Pallières dedicated this short film to Edgar Degas. Between dance and drawings, the film unveils the painter’s darker side.

La grande sortie by Alex Prager
An outing at the opera is a real rendezvous. Photograph Alex Prager exacerbates the dramatic tension felt from the invitation to the stage, where ballet dancers going from dreams to nightmares.  

L'Entretien de Félix by Givry et Ugo Bienvenu
And what if Human race was extinguished and only robots had survived? Coming from the universe of cartoonist Ugo Bienvenu, Mikki the maintenance robot screens every evening on the Garnier stage the pictures of a mysterious dancer…

Paul and Adèle, both extras on the production of Tristan and Isolde delve into the depths of the Palais Garnier in search of its underground lake. Their winding discussion will act as a love potion…

Clinamen by Hugo Arcier (mise en ligne le 25 mars)
Inspired by the “mocap” aesthetics (motion capture), Clinamen is a tribute to dance in its purest shape. The synthetic images enhance the quintessential movements of three artists dancing on the futuristic stages of the Garnier and the Bastille Opera.

* Partnering with the Agence court métrage (the short film Agency), the Festival offers each year an official selection for a large public, bringing the works of artists of tomorrow to the forefront. The selection of the Short Film Festival is accessible to all throughout the entire event: theatres, schools, health centres, penal institutions, media libraries, alternative and private venues. Screenings will be held in France and abroad.
