The Paris Opera is proud to congratulate its Musical Director, Gustavo Dudamel, who has just received the Glenn-Gould Prize, awarded by the eponymous foundation to celebrate artistic excellence, innovation, and humanism.

Gustavo Dudamel thus becomes the 14th winner of the Glenn Gould Prize, succeeding prestigious artists such as Yehudi Menuhin, Yo Yo Ma, Pierre Boulez, José Antonio Abreu, Leonard Cohen, Robert Lepage, Philip Glass, Jessye Norman…

This year, the jury was chaired by Bob Ezrin and included Sir Andrew Davis, iskwē, Karen Kain, k.d. lang, William Leathers, Robert Lepage, Liü Jia, Loreena McKennitt, Hélène Mercier and Charles Officer.

Gustavo Dudamel has gained a worldwide reputation thanks to his talent as musician and conductor, as well as his dynamism and his ability to bring classical and opera music to new audiences.

As Music Director of the Paris Opera since 2021, he has already forged a strong bond with the Paris Opera Orchestra and the public. He most notably won over the under-28s with the preview of Puccini's Turandot in December 2021.
