From June 7th to July 12th, Boris Godounov will be running at the Opéra Bastille in a new production directed by Ivo van Hove and conducted by Vladimir Jurowski.Vladimir Jurowski is currently one of the world's most sought-after conductors.
He is principal conductor of the London Philharmonic Orchestra and has just been appointed Music Director of the Bayerische Staatsoper. The question of power is central to Ivo van Hove's productions and particularly evident in his work fo the theatre: Roman Tragedies and Kings of War after Shakespeare, as well as Visconti's The Damned. Coming to grips with Mussorgsky's opera, he explores Boris' inner world: the tsar is torn between public and private life and the crime that haunts him.
On the occasion of this new production, the Opera invites you to a symposium at the Studio Bastille with Vladimir Jurowski (conductor), Ivo van Hove (director), Dmitry Golovnin (interpreter from the role of Grigori Otrepiev) and Jan Vandenhouwe (dramaturgy). Hosted by Sarah Barbedette (Director of Dramaturgy, Publishing and Communication).
