Tatjana Uhde Cello

Biography

Born into a family of musicians in Germany, Tatjana Uhde studied with Martin Ostertag at the Musikhochschule in Karlsruhe, Philippe Muller at the Paris Conservatoire (cello prize and advanced diploma) and Antonio Meneses in Bern. She continued her studies with Wolfgang Böttcher, Marc Coppey, Roland Pidoux and Ralph Kirshbaum. She is the winner of several international competitions (first prize at the Concertino Praga Competition and second prize at the Witold Lutosławski Competition in Warsaw).

As a soloist she has performed with the Baden-Baden Philharmonic Orchestra, the Philharmonia Varsovia, the Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra and the Biel-Solothurn Symphony Orchestra. She joined the Orchestre de l'Opéra national de Paris as principal cellist in 2008 and was appointed second principal cellist in 2010. She is also a member of the Bayreuth Festival Orchestra and teaches cello as assistant professor at the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris. She plays a French cello made by Bernardel Père (1852).
