Biography

Tatiana Dolmatovskaya is a film and theatre costume designer. Her recent projects feature The Black Monk at Thalia Theatre in Hamburg, Così fan tutte at Komische Oper in Berlin, The Nose at Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich and Parsifal at Staatsoper in Vienna, and she has been working on all of Kirill Serebrennikov’s productions.

For the past 15 years, Tatiana Dolmatovskaya has been working in film and opera in both Russia and Europe, while continuing her career in theatre. She studied Costume for Theatre and Screen in Wimbledon College of Arts in 2011, during which she worked as part of Jacqueline Durran’s costume team on Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina.

Some of her most recent projects include several films directed by Kiril Serebrennikov: The Ballad of Eddie starring Ben Wishaw (due for release 2023), Petrov’s Flu (Cannes Film Festival Official Selection 2021) and Leto (Cannes Film Festival Official Selection 2018).

She works in a wide variety of styles and genres from realistic images of our everyday life, to period drama and fantasy worlds. Her skills span historical figures, aliens and everything in-between. Her costumes compliment the vision created by the director, production designer and cinematographer and help actors reveal their characters. Tatiana Dolmatovskaya is currently living in London.
