Biography

Born in Brovary, Ukraine, Sofiia Anisimova began singing at the age of 15 at the Hadiach College of Culture and Arts with Natalya Horbachyk and later joined, in 2015, the I. P. Kotlyarevsky National Conservatory in Kharkiv. She obtained her master degree in singing in 2022 in the class of Oleksandra Kuzmina. After the outbreak of war in Ukraine, she was invited to continue her studies at the Paris Conservatoire in the class of Yann Toussaint. With the Kharkiv Opera’s Studio, she performed the roles of Cherubino (Le Nozze di Figaro), Dido (Dido and Aeneas) and the Mermaid (The Mermaid’s Easter by Ukrainian composer Leontovych). In 2021, she won a special prize awarded by jury president Zoryana Kushpler at the Wassyl Slipak International Singing Competition.

That same year, she won first prize in the Michael Strichartz Foundation International Competition for Young Opera Singers. Since her arrival in France, she has given several concerts (Live Music Now, showroom Pianos Kawai France) and has taken part in the masterclasses of Michel Plasson, Sophie Koch, Maciej Pikulski, Zoryana Kushpler et Jean-Yves Ossonce. Sofiia Anisimova joined the Paris Opera’s Academy in September 2023.
