Nathalie Stutzmann began studying piano, bassoon, and cello at a very young age and trained in conducting with Jorma Panula. She is the music director of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra through the 2028–2029 season.
Starting in the 2026–2027 season, she will also take on the role of artistic and musical director of the Monte-Carlo Philharmonic Orchestra. She was principal guest conductor of the Philadelphia Orchestra from 2021 to 2024. In recent seasons, she has notably conducted Tannhäuser at the Bayreuth Festival and Carmen at La Monnaie in Brussels.
During the 2025–2026 season, she makes her debuts with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Staatskapelle Berlin, and the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam. She also returns to the London Symphony Orchestra, the Swedish Radio Symphony Orchestra, and the Oslo Philharmonic. Her programs include Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No. 6, Strauss’s Ein Heldenleben, Mahler’s Symphony No. 2, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9 in Atlanta, Tosca in Amsterdam, Faust in Munich, and Rienzi at Bayreuth.
Debuts at the Paris National Opera.
