Minna Pensola Violin

Biography

A founder member of the Meta4 quartet, Minna Pensola is also a co-founder of the Punavuori Chamber Music Society. She teaches the violin at the Sibelius Academy and was the artistic director of the Sysmä Summer Sounds Festival from 2006 to 2012. She herself was trained by Kaija Saariketty, Ana Chumachenko, Hatto Beyerle and Josef Rissin. She performs as part of a chamber ensemble as well as a soloist under the baton of conductors like Sakari Oramo, Olari Elts, Eva Ollikainen and John Storgärds. She plays a Carlo Bergonzi violin (dating from 1732), loaned to her by the Signe and Ane Gyllenberg Foundation.
