Biography

Born in Sweden, Miah Persson is performing in the leading international opera houses. 

She has sung Fiordiligi (Così fan tutte), Gretel (Hänsel and Gretel) and Pamina (The Magic Flute) at the Metropolitan Opera in New York, Susanna (Le Nozze di Figaro) and Zerlina (Don Giovanni) at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, Poppea (L’Incoronazione di Poppea) and the Governess (Turn of the Screw) at Teatro alla Scala, Fiordiligi, Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier) and Susanna at Vienna Staatsoper, Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées and Gran Teatre del Liceu Barcelona, Fiordiligi at the Bayerische Staatsoper in Munich, the Staatsoper in Hamburg, in Stockholm and Tokyo, at the Baden-Baden Festival (Deutsche Grammophon recording), the Governess, Fiordiligi, Donna Elvira and Anne Trulove (The Rake’s Progress) at the Glyndebourne Festival. 

She also portrayed Drusilla (L’Incoronazione) at the Paris Opera. In season 2019/20, she made her role debut as Elettra (Idomeneo) in Rome and sang Donna Anna (Don Giovanni) at Grand Teatre del Liceu. 

In September 2021, she performed La Contessa di Almaviva (Le Nozze di Figaro) at the Dresden Semperoper staged by Johannes Erath, and returned at the Paris Opera to sing La Contessa in January 2022, in a production by Netia Jones. 

Her vast concerts repertoire include Bach’s St Matthew Passion, Beethoven’s Symphony No.9, Brahms’s German Requiem, Haydn’s “Nelson Mass”, Mahler’s Symphonies No.2 and 4 and Des Knaben Wunderhorn, Strauss Four Last Songs, Berlioz’s Summer Night…
