He subsequently appeared at the operas in Gothenburg, Stockholm, and Rome, and made his Edinburgh Festival debut conducting Bernstein’s On the Town. In Scandinavia, he has collaborated with orchestras such as the Gothenburg Symphony Orchestra, the Malmö Symphony Orchestra, and the Swedish Chamber Orchestra, with which he conducted the world premiere of Mark-Anthony Turnage’s A Prayer Out of Stillness. Ballet has become an important part of his musical career. Since February 2004, he has regularly conducted for the Royal Ballet at Covent Garden, and he has also toured with the company across the United States, Asia, and Europe.
