Biography

Member of the Paris Opera Chorus

A French mezzo-soprano, Marianne Chandelier combined scientific studies with a passion for the lyric arts before committing herself totally to singing. She was also drawn to the theater, where she was introduced to comic acting, commedia and clowning. She made her debut at the Fondation Royaumont as Despina (Così fan tutte), and later performed Taven (Mireille). A prize-winner at the CIMA Festival in Tuscany (Lola Rodriguez Aragon Prize), she performs regularly in France and in Europe for festivals and private events.

Attracted by ensemble music, she collaborates with the Paris Opera Chorus, where in 2016 she took up a permanent position in the viola 2 section. She also performs in the Concerts-rencontres offered by the Chorus artists at the Studio Bastille, in a wide variety of repertoires including Castelnuove Tedesco, Haydn, Schumann, Wolf, Lili Boulanger, Villa Lobos...
