Dutch tenor Marcel Beekman has performed at the Salzburg Festival, the Aix-en-Provence Festival, Theater an der Wien, the Opéra Comique, the Théâtre du Capitole in Toulouse, the Opéra de Dijon, the Lyon National Opera, the Théâtres de la Ville de Luxembourg, the Bregenz Festival, the Holland Festival, Lincoln Center, and Carnegie Hall in New York, among others.
In recent seasons, he has sung the roles of Bababeck (Barkouf) in Zurich; the Devil (Dora by Bernhard Lang) in Stuttgart; the Nurse (L’incoronazione di Poppea) in Barcelona, Cologne, and Geneva; Mr. Jones (Animal Farm by Raskatov) in Amsterdam; the Nurse (La Finta Pazza) with Cappella Mediterranea at the Château de Versailles; Andrès, Cochenille, Frantz, and Pittichinaccio (The Tales of Hoffmann) in Valencia; Monsieur Triquet (Eugene Onegin) at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées; Don Curzio (The Marriage of Figaro) in Berlin; Atrea (Pompeo Magno) in Bayreuth; and the title role in Platée in Stuttgart and Prague.
During the 2025–2026 season, he will perform Atrea (Pompeo Magno) in Bayreuth, Paris, Geneva, and Vienna, and appear in a new production of Alice in Wonderland by Unsuk Chin at Theater an der Wien.
