Biography

After his first steps on the harp, Louis Dechambre studied piano at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR) of Lille, the École Supérieure Musique et Danse Hauts-de-France, the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse (CNSMD) of Paris, and the Royal Conservatory of Mons. During this period, he received guidance from renowned teachers such as Jean-Michel Dayez, Roger Muraro, Romano Pallottini, Pascal Godard, and Jean-Marc Luisada.

Passionate about chamber music, he founded the duo Tonket with Thomas Boquet (piano four-hands), specializing in transcriptions. Louis collaborates with acclaimed artists such as Jean-Michel Dayez, the Hanson Quartet, Thibaut Pruvot, and Valentin De Francqueville. He regularly performs at festivals (Lille Piano Festival, Festival des Bobines et des Sons, Honfleur Lyrique, Musica Nigella, Saignon), in recitals (Nouveau Siècle, Théâtre du Cygne), and with orchestras (Orchestre Lalo, Orchestra of the Conducting Class of the Lille Conservatory).

He has won the Duo Prize at the Concours International d’Interprétation de la Mélodie Française in Toulouse, the 1st Prize at the Concours Musical de France with Duo Tonket, the 1st Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Competition in the “Piano-Voice Duo” category, and the 2nd Prize at the André Charlier Competition. Alongside his soloist activities, he began a Master’s in Orchestral Conducting with Nicolas Krüger at the Royal Conservatory of Mons and joined the CNSMD of Paris in the classes of vocal conducting (Erika Guiomar) and vocal accompaniment (Anne Le Bozec).

Louis Dechambre serves as repetiteur at CMA 6 and the lyric art workshop at CMA 12 under the direction of Catherine Dune and Philippe Barbey-Lallia (Puccini’s La Bohème in 2024, Bizet’s Carmen in 2025). In October 2023, he won the Duo Prize at the Concours International d’Interprétation de la Mélodie Française in Toulouse with countertenor William Shelton, and in April 2025, he received the 1st Prize at the Clermont-Ferrand Competition in the “Piano-Voice Duo” category with mezzo-soprano Léontine Maridat-Zimmerlin. He has participated in the creation of the opera Malbouffe by Orlando Bass and the show Palermo Palermo with the Pina Bausch troupe at the Opéra de Lille. In contemporary music, he collaborates with prominent musicians such as Jean-Frédéric Neuburger, Jean-Luc Fafchamps, and Vincent Paulet.

Louis Dechambre will join the Académie de l’Opéra National de Paris as a resident pianist-repetiteur in September 2025.
