Lorena Pires Soprano

Biography

Artist in residence at the Academy since September 2025

Originally from Brazil, Lorena Pires graduated from the Federal University of Espírito Santo.

Lorena Pires joined the Academy of the Paris National Opera in September 2025. She performs the role of Arminda in Julie Delille’s new production of La Finta giardiniera at MC93 – Maison de la Culture de Seine-Saint-Denis and makes her debut on the stage of the Palais Garnier with the Orchestra of the Paris National Opera in the concert La Nuit et l’Amour, conducted by Stephanie Childress. She also takes part in the Academy’s tours in Brazil (Theatro Municipal de São Paulo, Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro, and Teatro Guaíra in Curitiba) and in French Guiana (Salle des Trois Fleuves in Cayenne).

In 2019, she received her first professional engagement in Donizetti’s La fille du régiment. In 2024, she performed the role of Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi) at the Theatro Municipal de São Paulo and Anna (Nabucco) at the Theatro Municipal do Rio de Janeiro. Her repertoire also includes Arbace (Catone in Utica) and Sylvia (L’isola disabitata).

Lorena Pires is the recipient of First Prize at the Joaquina Lapinha Competition (São Paulo, 2023) and Second Prize at the Natércia Lopes Singing Competition (São Paulo, 2023).
