Lorena Pires Soprano

Biography

Born in Brazil, soprano Lorena Pires holds a bachelor's degree in singng from the Federal University of Esprito Santo in the class of Licio Bruno.

In 2019, she took part in Donizetti's opera La fille du régiment, her first professional engagement. Two years later, she returns to the stage as Zweite Dame in the concert version of Mozart's The Magic Flute. In 2024, Lorena Pires sang the roles of Arbace (Catone in Utica) and Sylvia (L'isola disabitata) and made two major national debuts: Lauretta (Gianni Schicchi), at the Rio de Janeiro Municipal Theatre, and Anna (Nabucco), at the São Paulo Municipal Theatre. That same year, she made her solo debut in Rossini's Petite Messe Solennelle at the Palácio das Artes, and sang Villa-Lobos's Bachianas Brasileiras n. 5 and Melodia Sentimental with the Camerata Antiqua de Curitiba in Punta del Este and Montevideo, Uruguay, making her international debut.

Lorena Pires won second place in the 18-25 category of the second Natércia Lopes singing competition, and first place in the “female voice” category of the second Joaquina Lapinha singing competition.

As part of the Brazil-France 2025 Season, Lorena Pires makes her debut with the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris in the concert “Mélodies françaises, melodias brasileiras” at the Opéra Bastille's Amphithéâtre Olivier Messiaen.

Lorena Pires joins the Académie de l'Opéra national de Paris as artist-in-residence in September 2025.
