Trained at the Academy of Music in Zagreb and later at the Queen Elisabeth Music Chapel, Leon Košavić began his career as Papageno (The Magic Flute) at the Croatian National Theatre, where he subsequently performed Masetto (Don Giovanni), Moralès (Carmen), and Malatesta (Don Pasquale). He has won prizes at the Emmerich Smola Förderpreis, the Mirjam Helin International Singing Competition, and the Stanisław Moniuszko International Vocal Competition.
Other roles in his repertoire include Ping (Turandot), Figaro (Le Nozze di Figaro), Guglielmo (Così fan tutte), Figaro (The Barber of Seville), and Harlequin (Ariadne auf Naxos). He has appeared on stages such as the Royal Ballet and Opera, the Zurich Opera, La Monnaie in Brussels, the Theater an der Wien, the Stuttgart Opera, the Royal Opera of Wallonia, the Grand Théâtre de Genève, the Grand Théâtre de Luxembourg, and the Teatro Regio in Turin.
During the 2025–2026 season, he performs Dr. Falke (Die Fledermaus) at the Theater an der Wien, Masetto at the Tokyo Spring Festival, Melot (Tristan und Isolde) for his debut at Dutch National Opera in Amsterdam, and makes his debut as Escamillo at Opera Ballet Vlaanderen.
